The Best Kaedahara Kazuha Support Build in Genshin Impact

Are you looking for the best build for your Kazuha? If you don’t have him at his max constellation, your best route is to build him as a support.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at the recommended weapons, artifacts, talent priorities, and tips when playing Kazuha as a supporting character.

We recommend checking out the team comp guide we made for Kazuha to make the most out of this build.

Overview of a Support Kaedahara Kazuha Build

Kazuha’s most significant asset as a support is the additional elemental damage bonus he can grant to his party. This bonus will scale higher based on his Elemental Mastery stat.

And while Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery rises with his character ascension, the best way to get the most out of his support arsenals is to boost it more through equipping the right weapon and artifacts.

Any weapon that raises Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery will be a great choice. This will enhance his supporting capabilities as well as his own Swirl damage.

Thankfully, you have a couple of weapons you can choose from. And most of them are not that difficult to get.

Here are you best choices of weapons:

– Upon gaining 2 stacks of Sigils, all party members will gain the Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance buff.

This buff gives the following effect:

– Increase the Damage of Normal, Charged and Plunging attack by 16/20/24/28/32%.

– Increase attack by 20/25/30/35/40%.

– Buff lasts for 12 seconds.

– This buff has a cooldown time of 20 seconds.

– This buff cannot stack with other Millennial Movement buffs such as from the Elegy for the End bow.

Kazuha’s best weapon is, without a doubt, the Freedom-Sworn sword due to its bonus Elemental Mastery and effect that complements well with Kazuha’s playstyle.

Even if you managed to refine the 4-star alternatives to their max, it still could not outperform this 5-star weapon.

The Iron Sting 4-star weapon is your 2nd-best weapon choice. In terms of elemental mastery bonus, the Freedom-Sworn sword only has a slight edge.

Though you lose the attack and damage bonus from Freedom-Sworn, you can still gain a significant amount elemental damage bonus through Kazuha’s passive talents.

Plus, you can refine this weapon without the need to top up your account. If you have some Sword blueprints laying around, go ahead and refine this weapon so you can increase Kazuha’s DPS whenever you pop him out of the field.

Your third choice would be The Alley Flash sword. This weapon isn’t a good option if you use Kazuha to raise your primary DPS damage due to its low elemental mastery bonus.

However, its high base attack and great weapon effect can offset this if we’re looking at the DPS of the entire party. If you don’t have any extra sword blueprints laying around, this is still a great option.

Lastly, the Dark Iron Sword 3-star can offer a higher Elemental Mastery bonus than The Flash Alley 4-star weapon.

However, due to its low base attack and restrictive weapon effect, I can only recommend this as your early game weapon for Kazuha. It will be a good choice if you have an Electro main DPS like Keqing.

Choosing the right artifact plays a big role in enhancing any character’s kit. And since Kaedehara is an Anemo character, he got access to one of the best artifacts set effect in the game.

Also, his support kit enhances with his Elemental Mastery. And there are a lot of alternative artifacts you can use in the early game for that.

Here are our recommended artifacts for Kaedahara Kazuha:

The 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set is indispensable for any Anemo Support characters.

Though Kazuha’s support skill is centered around raising his Elemental Mastery, it still cannot outperform the -40% elemental resistance reduction that this set brings.

Even the 4-star version of this set can do wonders for Kazuha. So, I would urge you to get this set as early as possible if you’re playing Kazuha as support.

On the other hand, a 4-piece Instructor set is a great early game artifact. It is super easy to trigger a Swirl reaction with Kazuha as your support. Therefore, you can activate its 4-piece set effect pretty quickly.

A 2-piece Instructor plus 2-piece Wanderer’s Troupe is a great early game option too. It will raise Kazuha’s elemental mastery by 160, which increases the party’s elemental damage bonus.

But as mentioned earlier, it is easy to trigger an elemental reaction with Kazuha, so I would recommend going this route if you don’t have a 4-piece Instructor set yet.

The easiest way to increase Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery (and therefore his support capabilities), is through your artifact’s main stat bonuses.

Therefore, you want to get Elemental Mastery as its primary stat for the Goblet, Circlet and Hourglass artifact slots.

As for the sub-stat, try to raise the Energy Recharge stat as much as you can. You can’t get the same sub-stat as your main-stat. So energy recharge will be your next best option.

The high elemental burst uptime will increase Kazuha’s support capabilities more than anything else.

Attack percentage is also a good option. While it doesn’t boost your primary DPS damage, it will help raise Kazuha’s damage, which, in turn, raises the party’s DPS.

Critical Rate is also great. But it will be pretty hard to raise this stat from sub-stats alone so it is better to just focus on either energy recharge or attack percentage.

Kazuha’s plunging attack damage has one of the highest damage scaling in the game. In fact, he’s on par with Xiao in this department.

While you will only pop Kazuha out on the field to quickly cast his elemental skill, his Midare Ranzan (elemental skill special effect) scales based on his plunging attack damage.

And you’ll most certainly always activate this skill whenever you pop him on the field.

According to my test, you’ll get more damage leveling his normal attack than leveling his elemental skill.

Hence you want to prioritize level his normal attack for the sole purpose of increasing his plunging attack damage even though you won’t use any of his basic attacks.

We put 2nd priority on his elemental skill because you will be using this a lot more times than your elemental burst.

However, his elemental burst packs quite a lot of damage if you add the Swirl damage into consideration. So you don’t want to have it falling behind.

My suggestion is to level them up evenly while giving priority to his normal attack talent.

Pros and Cons of this Build

Although we tailored this build to Kazuha’s playstyle, there are still some advantages and tradeoffs as with any other build.

These are:

Pros

  • With this build, you can maximize the Elemental Damage Bonus that Kazuha grants to his teammates.

Due to the buff elemental mastery received as of patch 1.6, the damage dealt by elemental reactions has been significantly increased.

  • Boosting Kazuha’s elemental mastery benefits not only his party but also the damage of his Swirl damage.

Just to give you an example, my Sucrose with 813 Elemental Mastery got her Swirl damage boosted by a whopping 462.30%.

  • With the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer set, you can shred your enemy’s elemental resistance by a lot. This effect makes this build an insane damage amplifier for your main DPS.

Cons

  • With this build, Kazuha will end up with a very low Attack stat. Therefore, you can’t take full advantage of the high damage scaling of his elemental burst.

  • You’ll have to rely on elemental reactions to deal any significant damage with this build.

But this isn’t as bad as it sounds. If you play Genshin Impact long enough, triggering an elemental reaction will become second nature for you.

  • Since this build focuses on increasing Kazuha’s elemental mastery, you can forget trying to raise his critical rate and critical damage.

The stat you can accumulate via your artifact sub-stat won’t be enough to make it worthwhile.

And unless you are blessed by the RNG gods, raising a good ratio of critical rate and critical damage is super hard to get with sub-stats alone.

Tips for Playing Kaedahara Kazuha as Support

Kaedahara kazuha using his elemental burst against hilichurls.

Utilizing Kazuha’s skills to their full potential is a little tricky if you’re not familiar with how each of his talents works.

Here are some tips you can do when playing Kazuha as support:

  • Before casting Kazuha’s elemental skill, you want to infuse your enemy with the same element of your main DPS character.

This action will ensure that your party will gain the correct elemental damage bonus and elemental resistance reduction.

  • Do a plunging attack within 10 seconds of activating Kazuha’s elemental skill to trigger the Midare Ranzan special skill effect.

Midare Ranzan will be your primary source of crowd control effect for Kazuha.

  • While Kazuha’s elemental burst has a vast initial AoE, its lingering effect doesn’t quite have the same range.

To maximize its damage, make sure to use his elemental skill right after you unleash his burst. Also, make sure to position yourself within the range of its DoT damage before using the elemental skill.

This positioning will ensure that the enemies are grouped nicely within the DoT range.

Conclusion

Without reaching Kazuha’s constellation 6, the best build you can make is maximizing his Elemental Mastery and using him as support.

This build will increase the party’s DPS through the elemental damage bonus he grants and Swirl damage he deals.
