In this post, we probed every character’s skills, passive talents and constellations to find the best Kamisato Ayaka team comp that fits your current character pool.
If you’re a regular reader, you know that you’ll find this guide helpful whether you’re a big spender or a F2P player.
Let’s get it started, shall we?
Content Overview
How We Choose the Characters for Ayaka’s Team Comp
Ayaka’s best asset is her ability to infuse her attacks with the Cryo element constantly.
Furthermore, her elemental burst can inflict a ton of damage to your enemies. However, it also has a very high energy cost to cast.
For these reasons, we’ve taken into consideration the following factors for every team comp we recommended in this guide:
- Enhance Ayaka’s Cryo damage output.
- Increase Kamisato Ayaka’s elemental burst uptime frequency.
- Focus on Melt or Freeze elemental reactions.
- Activate at least one elemental resonance if possible.
- Survivability.
Ayaka’s Best Team Comp
We’ve compared all characters at their max constellation for this team and see what works best for Ayaka.
Here’s the best Ayaka team comp we came up with:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 4-piece Blizzard Strayer | Any |
Kazuha | Burst DPS Support Sub DPS Crowd Control | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C2 (Optional) |
Mona | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C4 (Optional) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
This team utilizes the constant Freeze elemental reaction to control the phase of the battle.
This playstyle is made possible due to Ayaka’s innate ability to provide constant Cryo damage to her opponents.
Furthermore, this team setup can take full advantage of the 4-piece set effect of the Blizzard Strayer artifact.
This set can provide up to 40% Critical Rate, arguably one of the best stat you can raise in the game.
And since Ayaka is a sword user, she won’t shatter frozen enemies and makes it easier to sustain the 4-piece set effect.
Of course, none of this will be possible without the constant support of Hydro applications.
Here is where Mona comes in.
She serves as the enabler of the Freeze reaction while also providing massive damage from her elemental burst.
Her elemental skill has a fast cooldown, making it easy to proc freeze.
TIP: Make sure to apply a Pyro element first from Bennett before unleashing Mona’s elemental burst. Then pop the bubble using Bennett as well once her elemental burst encases them. This sequence of action will help you maximize the damage of Mona’s burst.
Speaking of Bennett, he serves as the Healer and Attack Buffer for the team.
Whenever possible, try to make use of his attack bonus buff when you’re about to unleash the elemental burst of either Ayaka or Mona.
Lastly, Kazuha serves as a crowd controller and debuffer (through the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer) for the team.
He can also raise Ayaka and Mona’s elemental damage depending on his Elemental Mastery stat.
In most cases, you want to use his elemental skill whenever you’re done applying the Cryo element to your opponents.
Doing this will ensure that he will grant Cryo Elemental Damage bonus through his elemental skill while ripping the Cryo resistance off your enemies through the Venerer set.
But when you’re ready to unleash Mona’s elemental burst, make sure to get the Hydro Damage bonus and Hydro resistance debuff instead.
Ayaka’s High-End Team Comp
For this lineup, we considered the potentials of 4-star characters at their max constellation and 5-star characters with no constellation.
Here’s the team comp you can build at the higher-end:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 4-piece Blizzard Strayer | Any |
Kazuha | Burst DPS Support Sub DPS Crowd Control | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C2 (Optional) |
Xingqiu | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
Same as the previous setup, this team comp also utilizes the Freeze reaction.
The beauty of this lineup is the simplicity of its character rotation. You only have to focus on supporting Ayaka every single time.
And unlike the previous team, you only have to make sure that you use Kazuha to Swirl the Cryo element. This action ensures that you’re giving Ayaka as much boost as possible.
With Xingqiu on the team, you can apply perma-frost to your opponents.
His elemental burst is so good that I’d even have him for the best team comp had Mona doesn’t have insane elemental burst damage scaling.
What’s even better is that Xingqiu generates a Hydro shield that increases the survivability of the team.
This shield also applies hydro element to opponents near it, making it great for melee characters like Ayaka.
His only downside is the long cooldown of his elemental skill.
I suggest that you equip him with the Sacrificial Sword and get him around 180% energy recharge. This setup will make significantly increase the uptime of his elemental burst.
Ayaka’s Mid-Tier Team Comp
For this team comp, we only included 4-star characters to support Ayaka.
If you’re a light spender or a long-time F2P player, this lineup will be up your alley.
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 4-piece Blizzard Strayer | Any |
Chongyun | Burst DPS Support | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C2 |
Xingqiu | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
Like the previous two teams, this lineup also utilizes the Freeze reaction. But this setup focuses more focus the perma-freeze style of play, making it easier and fun to use.
While Chongyun’s elemental skill is a little redundant since Ayaka can infuse her weapon with Cryo herself, the added effects can support Ayaka while she’s on the field.
Chongyun’s Steady Breathing passive talent can increase Ayaka’s attack speed while she’s within the field of his elemental skill. At the same time, his Rimechaser Blade passive can reduce the enemy’s Cryo resistance.
More importantly, he serves as Ayaka’s battery so you can unleash her elemental burst more frequently.
Furthermore, having both Chongyun and Ayaka on the team activates the Shattering Ice elemental resonance.
This resonance will give you a bonus of 15% in critical rate when attacking Frozen enemies or those infused by the Cryo element.
And with the way this team comp works, that effect can activate pretty much all the time.
Xingqiu’s elemental skill and burst will enable you to proc Freeze pretty much all the time.
Make sure you equip him with the Sacrificial Sword and pump his energy recharge stat so you can unload his elemental burst easier.
Lastly, Bennett increases your survivability through his healing. If you will use him to boost your attack, make sure to do so only when you’re ready to unleash Ayaka’s elemental burst.
I’m not going to lie. It was having second thoughts on adding this lineup as the best mid-tier team comp.
There are simply lots of variables that can affect the DPS potential of a team. These factors make it very hard to gauge the overall DPS potential of any group.
On the other hand, Reverse-Melt is your best option to maximize the damage of a Cryo character.
But there are also no good Pyro characters that can provide constant Pyro to trigger Reverse-Melt consistently.
Xiangling is the closest character that fits this bill. But her elemental skill has a long cooldown and her elemental burst has a high energy cost.
Ultimately, Ayaka’s elemental burst is strong enough to offset the possible additional elemental reaction damage boost as long you can unleash her elemental burst frequently.
Ayaka’s F2P-Friendly Team Comp
For this team, we restricted ourselves to selecting only free characters to work with Ayaka.
I don’t recommend this team unless you’re a newbie and don’t have many characters to choose from yet.
Nevertheless, here’s the team you can use at the start:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 4-piece Blizzard Strayer | Any |
Kaeya | Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
Xiangling | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Barbara | Heal Support Enabler | 4-piece Maiden Beloved | Any |
This setup utilizes the Freeze, Melt and Reverse-Melt elemental reaction.
Barbara serves as your healer and enabler of the Freeze elemental reaction. You can replace the Maiden Beloved artifact with a 2-piece Scholar and 2-piece Exile if you want.
Kaeya serves as the battery for Ayaka so she can cast her elemental burst frequently.
Ensure you equip him with the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige to provide a consistent attack bonus to the party. You’ll find that you can pretty much spam his elemental burst, so he’s perfect for that set.
Lastly, Xiangling will allow you to proc the Melt and Reverse Melt during her elemental burst and skill.
Ayaka’s Damage Showcase Team Comp
This team comp is made with only one goal in mind. And that is to increase Ayaka’s single damage hit so you can brag it to your friends.
Here’s the best damage showcase team for Ayaka:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 2-piece Blizzard Strayer 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
Kazuha | Buff Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C2 |
Zhongli | Buff Support | 4-piece Tenacity of Millelith | Any |
Bennett | Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
When doing a damage showcase, make sure to use Ayaka’s elemental burst as it has the most potential to kill a boss or mini-boss in one cast.
Ensure that you Swirl the Cryo element to ensure that the resistance reduction from the Venerer set and Kazuha’s bonus elemental damage add to the correct element.
Zhongli is there is rip the enemy’s Cryo resistance even more.
And finally, make sure Bennett applies the Pyro element (through his elemental burst) before unleashing Ayaka’s elemental burst.
This sequence will ensure that you’re triggering the Reverse-Melt reaction for 1.5x bonus damage.
Honorable Mentions
There are lots of other character team comp combinations that will work with Ayaka as the main DPS.
Here are some of the other fun team comps you can use:
Alternative team #1
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS Enabler | 2-piece Blizzard Strayer 2-piece Gladiator | Any |
Xiangling | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | C6 (optional) |
Xingqiu | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (optional) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
This team comp utilizes the Freeze, Vaporize, Reverse-Vaporize, Melt and Reverse-Melt elemental reaction.
What’s great about this team is the synergy of each character’s elemental skill and burst.
They essentially support each other well and pretty much serves as an enabler for each other.
While Ayaka will still take the field most of the time, she can work as an enabler for Xiangling.
If you’ve read our article about elemental reactions, you know that applying Pyro on Cryo will trigger a stronger version of Melt that deals two times damage. In contrast, the Reverse Melt only multiples the attack by 1.5.
Ayaka and Xingqiu can also work together and do some perma-freeze on surrounding opponents.
Xiangling and Xingqiu, on the other hand, can contribute to the team’s DPS through Vaporize and Reverse-Vaporize.
You don’t have to nitpick which elemental reaction you want to trigger either. Just keep on triggering various elemental reactions and everything will click intuitively no matter the character rotation.
Creating combos is pretty easy to do as Xiangling and Xingqiu’s elemental burst stays on the field so you can trigger varying elemental reactions. All this while Ayaka is doing the brunt of the attack.
My only suggestion here is to utilize Bennett’s attack boost whenever you’re ready to unleash your elemental burst.
With good artifacts and the right condition, this team can surpass the DPS of the high-end team.
The downside of this team is the lack of crowd control and battery for Ayaka.
And the lack of energy regeneration for a character like Ayaka can significantly reduce your overall DPS potential. While the lack of crowd control can pose a problem when you’re trying to get a 3-star finish on the Spiral Abyss.
Alternative team #2
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 2-piece Blizzard Strayer 2-piece Gladiator | Any |
Venti | Burst DPS Support Crowd Control | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Klee | Sub DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
With Venti in the lineup, this team comp is exceptional when it comes to crowd control.
Ayaka takes on the role of the main DPS along with Klee as the sub-DPS.
Even though Ayaka is your main DPS, I urge you to Swirl the Pyro element if your Klee is sufficiently geared. This way, you can take full advantage of the 2x damage bonus of the Melt reaction.
What’s great about this team is that Venti’s burst does not hinder Ayaka’s elemental burst. This behavior makes it easier to unleash skills when needed.
As usual, Bennett plays the role of the healer and attack booster. There’s simply no better character than this guy when it comes to this kind of role.
Anyway, having him and Klee on the team will activate the Fervent Flames elemental resonance.
This elemental resonance will give you a passive 25% bonus attack.
Alternative team #3
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Kamisato Ayaka | Main DPS | 4-piece Blizzard Strayer | Any |
Kazuha | Burst DPS Support Crowd Control | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Xiangling | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
This team comp utilizes the Melt and Reverse-Melt reaction.
If we’re only looking at the single damage for every reaction damage, this team comp is one of the best.
Unfortunately, this does not translate to higher DPS since pulling the Melt and Reverse-Melt consistently is not easy.
Kazuha can boost both Xiangling and Ayaka’s elemental damage through his passive talents.
And as per usual, the 4-piece Venerer set shreds the monster’s elemental resistance.
But the highest DPS potential of this team comes when Ayaka and Xiangling’s elemental burst is ready.
Both continuously apply elemental damage, which in turn constantly triggers elemental reactions.
And with Bennett and Xiangling on the team, you unlock the Fervent Flame elemental resonance.
The downside of this team is the absence of a good battery for Ayaka. It is not that bad though, since Venti can give 15 energy with his burst.
Just make sure that you’re Swirling the Cryo element when you do. This added decision is a little trickier than just having a battery character.
Conclusion
When creating the best team comp for Ayaka, our suggestion is to center it around the possible Melt and Freeze elemental reaction you can trigger.
This is unless you’re building her around a physical damage dealer.
But if you prefer using your waifu or husbando characters in your team, don’t let this guide stop you from doing so.
Always remember that while we do our fair share of research and test when building the best team comp for you, the most important thing is your enjoyment.
