In this guide, we analyzed all characters, artifacts and constellations to find the best team comp for your main DPS Klee.
Whether you’re a whale or a free-to-play player, we’re pretty confident you’ll find your best Klee lineup in this article.
Content Overview
How We Choose the Characters for Klee’s Team Comp
Klee’s best asset is her ability to deal continuous Pyro damage through her elemental skills, burst or normal attack. Furthermore, Klee’s charged attack scaling is one of the highest in the game.
On the flip side, the long cooldown of her elemental skill is her most glaring weakness.
That said, we considered the following aspects while building each team:
- Enhance Klee’s pyro damage output.
- Best Elemental Reaction for a pyro character.
- Utilize the Fervent Flame Elemental Resonance if possible.
- Compatibility to Klee’s charged and normal attack playstyle.
- Overall DPS throughout the character switching.
These team comps are best paired with Klee’s Pyro DPS Build.
Klee’s Best Team Comp
We considered all characters at their max constellation and see what harmonizes best with Klee.
Since it will require constellations even for 5-star characters, this might be a little bit out of reach for us mere mortals.
Anyway, here’s the best Klee team comp we came up with:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | C6 (Maxed) |
Venti | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C6 (Maxed) |
Ganyu | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Blizzard Strayer 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C4 |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
For this team comp, it is imperative that Venti has the 4-piece set of the Viridescent Venerer set.
The set’s effect alone will boost Klee’s damage by reducing the enemy’s pyro resistance by 40%. Just make sure that you’re triggering the Pyro Swirl reaction whenever you cast Venti’s elemental skill and burst.
On top of that, having Venti at constellation level 6 will further increase Klee’s Pyro Damage bonus by 20%. Again, just make sure that his elemental burst absorbs the Pyro element.
Ganyu’s role is to enable the melt reaction for Klee. Melt is the best elemental reaction you can trigger for the Pyro element as it doubles your Pyro damage, including critical damage.
At constellation 4, Ganyu’s elemental burst will increase the damage taken of opponents within its AoE by up to 25%.
If you’re familiar with Ganyu, you’d know that her elemental burst’s AoE is insanely massive. And did I mention she has a very high DPS potential on her own?
And of course, Bennett takes on the role of the healer, buffer and battery for Klee.
He further enhances Klee’s overall damage with his elemental burst. He will also activate the Fervent Flames elemental resonance, which will increase the party’s attack by 25%.
And with the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige, you can further increase Klee’s attack by 20% whenever Bennett uses his elemental burst.
Klee’s High-End Team Comp
For this team comp, we looked at 4-star characters at their max constellation. We also included 5-star characters and see if they make a good team with Klee without any constellation.
Here’s the 2nd best team comp for Klee:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Venti | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Mona | Burst DPS Support Enabler | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C3 (optional) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
Venti plays the same role as the previous team comp. Most of us won’t have any constellations for him, which is okay. As long as you equip him with the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer, he can still raise Klee’s damage by a lot.
Mona, on the other hand, enables the Vaporize elemental reaction. Vaporize is the second-best type of elemental reaction you can get from the Pyro element in terms of damage. It will multiply Klee’s damage by 1.5 times.
Her elemental skill has a very short cooldown. This short cooldown time will allow you to proc the vaporize reaction consistently. Her elemental skill also taunts opponents into the Illusory Phantom, making it easier to group them up and unleash Klee’s elemental skill on them.
Mona also deals an insane amount of damage with her elemental burst. And if done correctly, you can deal 2x damage with this burst as long as you apply Klee’s pyro property to your opponents first.
You can say that both Klee and Mona support each other’s damage. This harmony between the two will increase your overall DPS significantly.
Bennett still plays the role of battery, healer and buffer for this team. There’s simply no better alternative for him if you want to maximize Klee’s damage output.
Klee’s Mid-Tier Team Comp
For this lineup, we did not include any 5-star characters. But we still looked at the 4-star characters at their max constellation.
This lineup makes this the best team for free-to-play players and light spenders.
Here’s the mid-tier team comp we came up with for Klee:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Sucrose | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C6 (Maxed) |
Xingqiu | Burst DPS Support | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (Maxed) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
In this team comp, we replaced Venti for Sucrose and she can more than fill in this role. She does a better job if we’re only looking at boosting Klee’s damage alone.
With the Venerer set, you can reduce your opponent’s pyro resistance by 40%, plus Klee can get bonus elemental mastery through Sucrose’s passive talents.
And at constellation 6, Sucrose’s elemental burst can increase the whole party’s elemental bonus by 20% the same way Venti’s 6th constellation does.
You might be asking, why didn’t she make it higher in this tiered team comp guide. The answer lies within the very long cooldown time of her elemental skill.
You can solve this by equipping her with the Sacrificial Fragments. But even then, Venti’s energy regeneration is simply so significant that you can pretty much spam his ultimate skill all the time. Plus, Venti’s burst can group enemies more effectively than Sucrose.
For this reason, Venti can still output higher DPS for the whole team even without any constellation.
Xingqiu replaces Mona as the enabler of the Vaporize elemental reaction. While he can’t compete with Mona’s elemental burst, he allows Klee to proc Vaporize more consistently than Mona.
He also provides a shield with his elemental skill, which is good for survivability.
Make sure to equip him with the Sacrificial Sword as his elemental skill has a pretty long cooldown too.
And as always, Bennett’s role in this team is to provide Klee with healing and high damage boosting with this elemental burst.
Klee’s F2P-Friendly Team Comp
For this team comp, we put more emphasis on free characters. Therefore, it is perfect for players who do not have many characters in their collection yet or just started.
Here’s the F2P-friendly team comp we came up with for Klee:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Lavawalker | Any |
Anemo Traveler | Support DPS | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | C6 (Maxed) |
Xiangling | Burst DPS Support Battery | 2-piece Crimson Witch of Flames 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (Optional) |
Barbara | Heal Support Enabler | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
Xiangling’s role is to provide elemental particles for Klee while also constantly applying the Pyro status on opponents.
For this reason, Klee can benefit more on a 4-piece Lavawalker set than the Crimson Witch of Flames.
Xiangling can also boost Klee’s attack by 10% through her elemental skill and passive talent. Moreover, at constellation 6, she can increase Klee’s Pyro damage by 15% throughout her elemental burst.
Moving forward, the Anemo Traveler is a great character to have in your team because you can level up his/her constellation level for free. Just progress in your main quest and you’ll get it.
Equip the traveler with the 4-piece Venerer like you would Venti or Sucrose to increase Klee’s damage. And make sure that you’re triggering the Pyro Swirl reaction.
At constellation 6, he can also boost the elemental damage for Klee using his/her elemental burst. His/her elemental skill is also outstanding as it will suck in the leftover mines from Klee’s elemental skill.
However, his/her elemental burst is not as good as Sucrose or Venti, making it less superior than both.
Barbara serves as the healer and enabler for this team. But due to Klee’s ranged playstyle, you can’t rely on her to proc the Vaporize reaction consistently.
Overall, I would recommend using this team comp temporarily, at least until you get the other characters we listed in this post.
Klee’s Damage Showcase Team Comp
This team comp focuses solely on maximizing Klee’s damage to get the greatest one-hit damage from Klee’s charged attack.
While this team is pretty decent, we wouldn’t recommend this your normal gameplay or clearing the most challenging content like the Spiral Abyss.
Here’s what the damage showcase team looks like:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Sucrose | Buff Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Diona | Buff Support | Any | C6 |
Bennett | Buff Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 |
Sucrose built with a pure Elemental Mastery on her stats and 4-piece Viridescent Venerer will provide Klee with the best damage boosting capability.
She’ll provide the -40% Pyro element resistance plus add 200+ elemental mastery if you get her build right.
Also, make sure that you equip her with the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers weapon. This weapon will further increase Klee’s charged attack damage by a lot. This weapon is also easy to refine to level 5 so make sure to do that as well.
Diona, on the other hand, will enable the Melt elemental reaction, which will double Klee’s charged attack damage. Moreover, at C6, she will provide 200 elemental mastery, which will boost the melt damage even more.
She will provide the same damage-boosting effect no matter which artifact she has. So that aspect doesn’t matter.
If you don’t have her at C6 though, any other Cryo characters will do just fine.
And of course, Bennett will give that insane attack bonus with his elemental burst and through the Noblesse Obliged set.
Lastly, you want to equip Klee with The Widsith weapon, preferably at refine level 5. While this weapon is only a 4-star, you can get the greatest one-hit damage if you can get its 96 bonus elemental damage from its three random effects.
As you can imagine, this is a little tedious to set up. But if you want to show off that Saitama-like damage, this is the way to go.
Honorable Mentions
Let me share some of the other team compositions that will work well for Klee but just didn’t quite make the cut.
Alternative team #1:
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Lavawalker | Any |
Venti | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Fischl | Enabler | 4-piece Tenacity of Millelith | C6 (optional) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
This team composition works so well with Klee that I consider this the most stable out of all team comp listed here.
By stable, I mean that character cycling is pretty straightforward and the timing isn’t as crucial as, say, the high-end team lineup.
With Fischl on the team, it is triggering the Overload elemental reaction will be effortless.
You can spam with Venti’s elemental burst, drop Klee elemental skill to trigger Pyro Swirl, then summon Oz for that Overload reaction galore.
This playstyle will allow Klee to stay on the field for as long as possible. In turn, you can have Klee wreck havoc with her elemental burst and charged attack more frequently than any other team.
And with Bennett still on the team, you can take advantage of the Pyro resonance, attack buff, and healing he brings to the table.
The only real downside to this team is that the vaporize and melt team will have higher DPS potential.
Alternative team #2
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Venti | Burst DPS Support | 4-piece Viridescent Venerer | Any |
Rosaria | Sub DPS | 2-piece Blizzard Strayer 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C5 (optional) |
Bennett | Heal Support Buff Support Battery | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | Any |
This team utilizes the Melt elemental reaction to deal insane damage to monsters.
Both Klee and Rosaria support each other’s damage, so it doesn’t matter which element gets absorbed by Venti’s elemental burst.
It also doesn’t matter if Klee or Rosaria triggers the Melt or Reverse melt to your enemies. Both reactions will deal serious damage to your opponents.
They can also both benefit from Bennett’s attack boost, so you’re getting the most out of the duration of Bennett’s buff.
I’ll put this team comp above the mid-tier team but lower than the high-end team comp.
It has a strong case in replacing the mid-tier team comp if not for Venti. Because replacing Venti for any other Anemo character will significantly reduce this team’s DPS output.
If I had Venti and Klee, I’d pick this team over the mid-tier team comp we selected.
Alternative team #3
Character | Role | Artifact Set | Preferred Constellation Level |
---|---|---|---|
Klee | Main DPS | 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames | Any |
Xingqiu | Burst DPS Support | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (optional) |
Xiangling | Burst DPS Support | 2-piece Heart of Depth 2-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (optional) |
Diona | Heal Support | 4-piece Noblesse Oblige | C6 (optional) |
All characters in this team have a long-lasting elemental burst, making it really fun to use.
With this lineup, you can trigger lots of elemental reactions consistently. For example, you can do Melt, Vaporize, Reverse Vaporize and Freeze elemental reactions.
It is also great for crowd control, especially when you have Xingqiu and Diona’s elemental burst up.
Also, all characters can pretty much harmonize with each other no matter the rotation of your character switching.
And if you can equip Xingqiu with a Sacrificial Sword and Diona with a Sacrificial Bow, this team becomes a monster when it comes to energy regeneration.
Diona, with an R5 Sacrificial Bow, can provide almost unlimited healing uptime. Pair that with her shield and Xingqiu’s shield, and you got yourself a lineup that can take on the hardest content of the game, like the Spiral Abyss.
Xiangling can also boost Klee’s pyro bonus and attack through elemental resonance and her passive talent.
The only drawback of this lineup is that you’ll be missing the -40% elemental resistance that any Anemo character can bring to the table.
Although this team comp has lower overall DPS potential, it makes up for it with very high survivability and consistent elemental reactions.
Conclusion
When trying to build a team comp around Klee, boosting her damage through elemental reactions, resonance, buffs and debuffs will allow her to deal an insane amount of damage per second.
A particular character’s playstyle, passive talents and constellation can also affect the team’s overall DPS, so it should also be a part of the consideration when choosing your lineup.
But the most important thing is to use characters that you enjoy using the most. After all, we all play for fun, right?
